Dear Ahsan,

How are you? It has been a long time since we have heard from you. How is life in boarding school? I write this letter is that you can hear about me and Lina’s school outing to Pulau Kapas. Do you want to hear it?

Brother,
On a cool breezy Saturday morning, 20 people including us gathered at the school at 7.15 am. We were very excited as this would be our first trip to Pulau Kapas. After a brief roll call, we rode a bus to a nearby jetty. There, a boat was specially chartered for us. At around 7.30 a.m, the boat departed from the jetty and took 20 minutes to arrive at a jetty in Pulau Kapas. Before alighting, we paid the fare, which is RM 90 per person.

After arriving, we frolicked around happily. After getting permission, we all jumped into the sea and swam in the warm water. Some, after getting bored, went on to dry land and grabbed a few snorkelling equipments. Seeing them snorkelling, we followed suit. Soon, everybody was snorkelling in the clear water. We also had a chance to see some fish. After a while, our skins were wrinkled and some already had blue lips and started shivering. So, we got out of the water and warmed ourselves up. Half an hour later, we played some games on the beach such as football, volleyball and sandcastles.

Soon, dusk came. So, we pitched up tents and lighted a fire. Around the campfire, we sang song and listened to ghost stories. We cooked mushroom soup on the fire and it was delicious. Along way into the night, we felt sleepy and retired into our tents. Lina went into the girls’ tent. When dawn came, we woke up, gathered on the beach and listened to the waves crashing on the beach.

On that Sunday noon, we packed our stuffs and left the island. We were a bit sad. But we are satisfied and cannot wait to come again.

That is it from me for now. I know it is a bit long, but I hope you will be satisfied. Can’t wait to hear from you again. Bye!

                                                                        Sincerely yours,

Guided Writing II
 Aimi Fathanah's Composition

Last week, it was my 13th birthday party. I was very excited to celebrate it together with my family and friends. Two days before my birthday, I sent some invitation cards to my classmates, teachers and relatives so they could come over my house.
That night, I decorated the house beautifully. It was full with balloons. I couldn’t wait to wear my new dress that my father brought. The next morning, I woke up early from my sleep and dressed up as pretty as an angel. I was waiting for my friends to come over to my birthday party. The first persons to arrive at my house were my Aunt Jenna and Uncle Tom. They took an aeroplane just to come over my birthday party. It was very shocking. They gave me a big and huge present. They told me to open it after the birthday party is over.

After a few minutes, my friends came. They wished me a happy birthday and gave me presents. They were dressed up beautifully. We had a great time together. The food and drinks were prepared on the table ready to be eaten. The part that I was waiting for was cutting the cake. Everyone was very happy. Some of them took pictures of me and some of them sang the birthday. After that, we played the musical chair game. It was a simple game. We need to get a radio for the music and some pieces of papers. The papers are written with some instructions to be done. The papers are put in the box and the guests who failed to get the seat when the music stop will pick one of the papers in the box and perform the instruction written. We had fun laughing together. At the edge of the room, a table was full of presents and cards.

I could not wait to open the presents. The funny clown who suddenly went inside my house was entertaining. I was wondering who was the person wearing that kind of fancy outfit. The clown showed funny tricks that made us laugh. The voice of the clown was familiar. It was certainly my father. They got reach of the mask and saw my father’s face. He hugged me and held me tight. It was the best birthday party I ever had. After all the guests had gone back home, I started to open the presents. I got a study lamp, some books, lovely dress, a new pair of shoes and lots more, I was amazed. I had never ever got so much presents as that day.

I was tires but on cloud nine. I had a magnificent, memorable and exciting day. I am looking forward for the next year’s birthday party. I cannot wait!
